My story
A quiet pull toward the world,
and 25 years to answer it.
I grew up in Nagoya with a vague but persistent pull toward the world beyond Japan. It took me until 28 to actually act on it, first to study in the US, then to build a career across Switzerland and the UK.
Along the way I built a 25-year career across international companies, including Swiss Re, Zurich Insurance, Expedia and PartnerRe, working through no shortage of setbacks and unfamiliar rooms. With colleagues, mentors and friends alongside me, I found my footing one challenge at a time, and came to know myself far better in the process.
These days, I share what that took with other professionals building careers far from home.
About Eri
25 years. Three continents.
One consistent thread.
My career spans financial services, technology, consulting, and hospitality across Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. I have held senior change and transformation roles at Swiss Re, PartnerRe, Zurich Insurance Group, Galytix, Expedia and Swissôtel Management.
The thread through all of it: I have always been drawn to the human experience of change, what it does to people, and what becomes possible when they choose to meet it differently.

My main focus at the moment is a Japanese-language community for professionals building international careers. We meet online once a month, and I share what 25 years abroad actually looked like, mistakes included. It's run in Japanese, so this page won't walk you through it in detail, but if you're curious, you're welcome to follow along.
